  1. 李慶晏 says:

Current publishing model creates an opportunity for potential predatory journals/publishers to take authors’ money and publish their work without scrutiny. The fact that this happens as frequently as it does, tells us that there is not enough capacity within the publishing community to process the amount of scientific writing that is being generated. AI solutions will help to address this shortage in two ways. First, AI will increase the overall capacity to publish quality works by finding new reviewers, creating automated reviews, etc. Second, using AI technologies will make it possible to take an automated retrospective look at published works and quickly identify organisations that are not fulfilling their obligation to uphold appropriate standards.

Can AI be a solution to current issue? I think it depends on what kind of issues, for example in recent year people used ai to create robots which Just like human. The expert said these robots can replace Human Resources. If so than the robots can work in the factory and producing products all the day,it sounds nice right? In other hands it means that a lot of people might lose their job. These smart robots could also be useful on take care of elder people. According to the research many developed country have population aging and low birth rate problems in this generation. If Ai robots can replace human than it can solve the elders long term care problems.
Many people worry about if AI replace humankind and eventually become the ruler of the earth like movie plot. I think its impossible because AI is information process and reactions. All of the information is given by human. If human implants the evil information than the AI can be evil. All we have to do just prevent bad guy teach AI bad things.

The sunlight exposure has both positive and negative effects. There are several benefits to sunbathing, such as good for heart health, reducing allergies, helping to fall asleep and making vitamin D. UVB in ultraviolet light can help the body synthesize vitamin D. The function of vitamin D can promote the absorption of calcium and maintain the health of bones. It is also related to the growth of cells, muscles and immune system. Vitamin D can even be used to prevent cancer. Dark-skinned people who live in temperate climates have less vitamin D. Dark-skinned people are inefficient at making vitamin D because melanin in the skin blocks the synthesis of vitamin D. It may cause Osteoporosis, high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. Tanning and sunburn are common effects of excessive skin exposure to UV rays and the worst disease is skin cancer. The most famous example is Hugh Jackman who has done six operations. Experts suggest that the best time to sunbath is between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. People with darker skin need to extend 1.5 times to 2 times longer. It is not only producing the need of vitamin D but also keeping our body health.

Most of the Asian people don’t like to sunbathe. In most Asian people’s standard of beauty, we like a person whose skin is as milk and roses. So, we will try to avoid the sun. However, we all forget that do sunbathe will still bring us a lot of benefits. We can get a certain amount of vitamin D by sunbathing. Vitamin D is very important to human’s bodies. The function of vitamin D can promote the absorption of calcium and maintain the health of bones. It also related to cell, muscle growth and immune systems. Vitamin D can even be used to fight cancer. Many people are afraid of skin aging or skin cancer, so they don’t like to bask in the sun, especially women. But we just need to spend ten to fifteen minutes to bask in the sun a day, and we will have a better health. Although people can get vitamin D from some food, basking in the sun is still necessary.
But in fact, different skin colors and different ways of sun exposure have a great influence on the synthesis effect of vitamin D. For example, blacks and whites stand under the sun at the same time, and white people can get more vitamin D than blacks. Because dark skin can significantly reduce the UV light absorbed by the body, which affects the production of vitamin D. Doctor can suggest black people spend more time in the sun, not only 15 minutes a day.

The intensely siloed nature of academia is well known. Citation standards are falling in a Google Scholar world which filled with explosive growth in available knowledge. But scholars seem unaware of developments across the rest of their own field, not to mention the rest of academia. Most researchers have good reason to complain about peer review. It is time-consuming and easy to have the mistakes. Moreover, the workload is unevenly spread. There is just twenty percents of scientists taking on most reviews. Though scholars have always picked up their reference to argue for why their work is novel or an advance over previous work, the comprehensiveness of citations even in top journals appears to be in marked decline. Nowadays, peer review by artificial intelligence is promising to improve the process, boost the quality of published papers and save reviewers time. A handful of academic publishers are piloting AI tools to do anything from selecting reviewers to checking statistics and summarizing a paper’s findings. Crucially, in all cases, the job of ruling on what to do with a manuscript remains with the editor.

First of all, I think it is interesting to discuss this topic because I rarely talking or thought about this kind of issue. In my opinion, many issues have already existing for a long period of time. However, as the development of technology, problems are more likely to be solved or improve by scientist or others. The reason that some important findings took two or more years to be published is that it would affect people all over the world. The experts, scientists and researchers have their responsibility on what they have launched or else it may lead people to be panic, skeptical and unacceptable. In addition, all the findings and results need to be verified and reviewed by many experts and scientists in order to be published. In this case, it is common for a masterpiece take more than one year to publish to society without any help of technology. Second, There are many thousands of people who write papers, but only few professors reviewed it. It is hard for them to correct works. Now, with the assistance of AI, perhaps it could speed up the process of publishing studies. For instance, people who do similar research could be analyzed by the AI so that professors do not have to spend too much time on categorizing papers. Owing to this reason, I believe that AI can help people to know latest knowledges and findings nowadays.

More or less sunlight exposure is big problem to people because it affects people’s life. Appropriate exposure to sunlight is good for people’s health, and it not only contributes to the production of vitamin D, which has been associated with enhanced bone health, mood, and cognitive functions, but also regulates the secretion of melatonin, which has been associated with the mediation of circadian rhythms, improved sleep quality, and optimized physical and social activity in the elderly. However, too much sunlight exposure can damage to the skin, eyes, and immune system has also been widely associated with long-term exposure to sunlight. The skin color and the different way of sunlight exposure also affect the extent to which people receive sunlight. Over thousands of years, in many climate zones, genetic selection has helped indigenous human populations adapt toward skin pigmentation levels that provide a healthy level of UV exposure. This largely explains the tendency toward darker-skinned populations in the sunniest tropical environments, and lighter skin tones in less-sunny regions and for those who most need vitamin D for rapid bone growth, specifically children and reproductive-age women.

Sunlight is one of the most important thing in the world. We can exposure to sunlight moderately to make our body strong. For example, we can decrease to catch a caught because sunlight can promote our Vitamin D. Second, we can reduce depression. According to the research, the people who don’t usually exposure to sunlight will be fidgety in winter or rainy day. Third, people who usually exposure to sunlight can get longer life. Therefore, we can know that sunlight can bring many benefits to us.
It is good to exposure to sunlight from 10 AM. to 4 PM. The best time for exposuring to the sunlight is 15-20 minutes. Then we had better reduce the time to sunshine in summer because it’s too dangerous to our skin.
According the report, we should not wear white clothes because it might hurt our skin. We can wear red clothes to reduce excessive ultraviolet ray. We had better drink water after expousring to sunlight because we need to supplementary Moisture which lost.
Sunlight bring us so many advantages, We just use it reasonable then we can be more healthy.

After reading the statement in the film, the term “published in a peer-reviewed journal” is sometimes considered as the gold standard of science. However, any professional scientist will tell you that the fact that the article has been peer-reviewed is a long way from a firm guarantee of quality. The position of the journal that publishes the paper is the first thing. For each field of science, a wide range of journals and more professional journals are available. But it is important to recognize the existence of hierarchies. Some journals are considered more prestigious, or frankly than others. In practice, each researcher brings the most important related journals to their minds. When choosing a publishing location, each scientist makes his or her own judgment about how interesting and how reliability of the new results. Finally, I conclude that peer review has become fundamental to assisting editors in selecting credible, high-quality, innovative and interesting research papers published in scientific journals and to ensure that any errors or problems that arise in the submitted papers are corrected. Although there are some defects and deficiencies in the peer review process, but researchers have started and must continue to find ways to solve current problems through peer review to ensure that it is a comprehensively proven system and that only high-quality research papers can be published to the scientific community.

Although there are much astonishing research comes from scientific and technological discoveries, but there are still many problems while doing this research. Many issues exist and studies and their important findings can take two or more years in some cases to be published.

After watching this video, some problems have been proposed, and I think these are some good point. The first one is the patent’s problem. Assume that today, Ms.A publish new research, she thinks that the idea of this research comes from her. So, the patent should be hers. But, the people who do the research thinks that the patent should be theirs. I think this is a problem. People who think that they do something, they are part of this research, why can’t they have this patent. Actually, it is not fair to them.

The second problem is about money. While doing research, we may need many sources of funds. But if we go to find the sources of funds, and nobody supports the research, we couldn’t do will on the research, then it will all been wasted.

And the last one is about the data. Although we have machines to help us do the research. In the human mind, there may be something that we lost it or didn’t expect. In that case, the research might not usually all right. This may cause some dispute.

After watching the video, I realized it is not a simple to publish a journal or thesis of research. There are still have some problems of publishing research result of thesis. For example: if you have determined that the things you are researching are correct and you want to publish them, but others are unfamiliar with your research, they may be casually comment or be uninterested in your research, you probably can’t publish your research. Besides, the thesis must be reasonably verified and reviewed, because the research of scientific issues needs to be complete and have a high professional standard review before they can be published. So, these reasons will take more years to publish the research . In addition, doing some research may need many funds. But if you can’t get the sources of funds and someone’s support , you can’t publish your research Successfully . In this condition, it is really difficult to publish the research. But now with the emergence of artificial intelligence, it is possible to analyze the research process and results more accurately through AI, and to review a research more quickly.

I think I have the same idea as you about the publishing. This is a serious problem in some aspects. Now this mode is not a good situation for publishers and readers, because the bug of examination or the inefficiency of human will make the information cannot be update. The world is changing every day. The later you publish, the more the data incorrect.
The paper needs to be published quickly, so I think bidding is going to be a great way, if you need this paper, then buy it. But there will still be some problems, publishers will need a high-exposure platform, that will be pulled into the platform of examination system.
I think the best way is to combine with artificial intelligence or some high technology. Anyway, no human resource. Use AI to built a complete and perfect system to achieve the highest efficiency.

I think this object involves two topics: health and racial issue. It’s a fact that Vitamin D which is produced by sunlight and UV light is important for your health. The film mentioned an issue at the beginning of the discussion of this object, black ethics seems to deteriorate in health much quicker than white ethics. The great diseases among black people are higher than white people due to the deficient of Vitamin D. So, black people should exposure to sunlight more than white people. But it’s hard to tell the blacks this conclusion because some black people may think it is racial discrimination. In my opinion, racial issues have been deeply rooted in people of previous generations’ hearts for a long time, but for health, everyone should keep this advice in mind. This is because of the genetic of nature. Many white people like to do sunbathing, but whites are the most vulnerable to sun damage and have the highest incidence of skin cancer. So, I think actually the sunlight exposure has both positive and negative effects. Although it is beneficial for our health, it also has damage to our skin. So we should take care of sunburn protection while taking nutrients.

According to this survey, I think this mistake is obviously a stereotype. The threat of stereotypes not only appears in various scientific research, but also in the sports and our daily lives. To be honest, I don’t think research shows that it can represent everything. For example, the psychologist Claude Steel once gave a group of students from college a standard test, telling them that they were testing their intellectual abilities, and that shows “whites” performed much better than “blacks”. But if the same test is only used as an experimental tool, and there is no mention of any intellectual abilities, and the scores are similar whether whites or blacks.
What I want to emphasize is that if you assume that the pattern of success or failure of any ethic group is based on research, this may lose the value of research; I’m deeply convinced that there has more subtle and deeper force behind it. The actual research and discovery have long negated the tendency to simplify whites and blacks problem into a genetic problem. If we all can take out the “colored glasses” with racial prejudice, we will find that not only the world looks different, but soon, everything will change and gradually become better and more harmonious!

With the advancement of technology, the application of artificial intelligence in life is becoming more and more common. In my opinion, in the era of this information explosion, many scientists’ hard research reports will not be seen by the world if they are not prominent. In particular, scientific papers need to be supported by a lot of evidence, which is very time consuming and laborious. We also don’t have enough manpower to help them check whether the paper can be published. Perhaps a good paper is buried. Moreover, many publishers cannot guarantee the safety of scientists’ research results, and the conditions that lead to plagiarism are all harmful to scientists’ research efforts. If we can combine modern artificial intelligence, we can not only improve the overall research efficiency but also reduce the burden of human deficiencies. I believe that with the help of artificial intelligence, more articles can be discovered. Human beings in the field of science and technology can reach another peak.

Not everything is by human and one of the problem is that it might not be his particular domain or field so he would judge the journal by the results or references to judge the hotness if it is suitable for publishing.Another problem is that viewers are not experts on all topics so the reviews may not be as good as expected. Journalists who are not highly rated do ranking by how much they are cited so they would ask authors to find journalists from that particular article to help them that way and to make their articles good but sometimes the articles they find are not at all relevant to what they are writing and because they are not experts so its hard to make the 100 percent right decision Scientific publications is about who you know and who knows you because that is the way to make connections and have other people willing to help you. When you are asked to review an article you have to because if you don’t they might not help you in return unless you are famous, which in that case you only have to put your name on it. They want to close down some universities because the population is stabilized and there are too many teachers that are not needed so they cut down schoolsUsually it is the first stage where the bias occurs if you know the people or not. Last issue is that a rushed process are biased where as research that takes longer to be published can be more unbiased. They only focus on things that they think could be a hot topic you have to think how can you persuade your funders for more money if it is not that hot

Sometimes, reviewers are not fair enough. Papers are judged on the reputation of the author instead of quality. An excellent paper written by a new or maverick scientist can be rejected. Humans are subjective. If we use AI technology, we can solve this problem, because computers are not human, it does not have emotion.
Second, the whole process is time-consuming and tedious. Papers can be held up for many months, and the study is getting older and older. If we use technology, it can significantly increase productivity and speed up the process. It also can avoid some mistakes.
The last one is there are no grading systems about the quality of the peer review. Different journals have different standards, and there is no way to know the expertise and quality of the reviewers or editor. I think there is also the same problem with our entrance exam. We have an entrance exam before we enter colleges in Taiwan, and which school you are going to study depends on your score. One of the subjects is writing. In my opinion, it’s unfair. Every professor has different standers, and everyone likes a different writing style! AI can solve these problems and help us have a better life in the future.

Due to the video, I think the researchers should take the problems serious. The research which tells people important information will influence people’s health condition deeply. Therefore, a research shouldn’t have any prejudice. Vitamin D plays a significant role in immune system. Lack of vitamin D will have higher probability of stroke and heart disease, and is easier to infect by bacteria. In fact, people with dark skin needs more time to bask in the sun than people with light skin. However, the reason is associated with the protection of skin. People living near equatorial have more darker skin. It is because the place near equatorial will have longer sunshine time and stronger sunshine than people in high latitude. The melanin can block sunshine. To avoid skin over basking to the sun, Melanocyte in Dermis will secret melanin so people live in equatorial will have darker skin. In contrast, people living in high latitude will have lighter skin, because they can’t often have enough sunshine, the skin will be easier to absorb sunshine with less melanin. As a result, people with darker skin just have to take more sunbathing to obtain enough vitamin D to keep healthy. It is not associated with the race.

After I watched this video, I am really interested in the sunlight exposure issue. Since I actually did not know much about it, I googled it for a while. And to be honest, I had no idea that the people with darker skin are harder to absorb vitamin D than those with whiter skin. To me this is like a fun fact (ha ha). I also learned that if you want to do some sunlight exposure for vitamin D, the general suggested time is 10-15 minutes. Getting as much sunlight as you can is completely useless; what’s worse, you will probably get hurt by the sunlight. The sunlight at noon in Taiwan is extremely strong. If you explore yourself under the sun for over 20 minutes, your skin will easily be sick and you will grow old quicker. However, a question just came up with my mind. I know that western people love to be tanned, but not in the east. Most of my friends, me included, try hard to prevent sunlight exposure by putting sunscreen or wearing a hat. In that case, we will not absorb enough vitamin D for our bodies. Well, there is nothing to be worried about. I have already found a solution for myself. There is a suggestion for those who are not able to (or just do not want to) get enough sunlight exposure—eating the right food. The research has shown that food such as milk, eggs and nuts can also provide vitamin D. Say no more, I am going to have some milk now!!

In my opinion, researchers play an important role in telling people some useful or significant information. For examples, this survey is tell us that the less Vitamin D you have the more diseases you may have. That means that whether whites or blacks even Asian will see this research. So each research shouldn’t be discriminated.
I know that people may say that scientific researches just a kind of references and it cannot represent everything. But sometimes when we have problems we usually seek for answers with researches. What I want to emphasize is the researches should be absolutely fair and without any discriminations.

I think AI can solve many problems in many aspects. I’d like to provide three reasons to show why we should start using AI as soon as possible. First, it can help make faster decision and carry out action quicker. As an old saying goes, “Time is money.” For example, it can be used in scientific peer review. Just like what you say in the video, there are too many journals need to be review by experts and scholars before publication. With AI, scientific peer review are no longer bothering. Second, it helps us for error reduction and increase the chance of reaching higher accuracy. Take medical field for example, AI can make medical treatment more precise, advanced, and thus improve medical quality. A few months ago, I saw AI technology has been introduced by
China Medical University, it not only saved doctors’ time, but also helped doctors to make more precise medical strategies in the newspaper. The last one is that AI can be utilized to test dangerous experiments or perform the job continuously without getting bored, distracted or even tired. AI technology brings convenience to humans in many ways. We benefit from artificial intelligence solutions daily without even realizing it. We can make a better life if we use AI properly.

After watching the film, I realized how difficult to publish a research. There are many factors impact the result. It may spend two or more years to publish. Before studies being published, they need to be peer reviewed by experts. This process often takes a lot of time. Many journals, even in the age of the internet, take more than a year to review and publish a paper. There must be different opinions in the course of their review, because not everyone have interest in it. In peer review, there may be biases in it. When this happens, how do we deal with it? The most important question with peer review is not whether to abandon it, but how to improve it. I searched for some information on the internet. It shows many ideas have been advanced to do so, and an increasing number have been tested experimentally. The options include: standardizing procedures; opening up the process; blinding reviewers to the identity of authors; reviewing protocols; training reviewers; being more rigorous in selecting and deselecting reviewers; using electronic review; rewarding reviewers; providing detailed feedback to reviewers; using more checklists; or creating professional review agencies. It might be, however, that the best response would be to adopt a very quick and light form of peer review—and then let the broader world critique the paper.

High-quality peer review is fundamental to scholarly publishing, certifying the legality, rigor and accurateness of research suppose, methods and conclusions. The challenge for publishers and reviewers is maintaining the quality standards in the face of increasingly scripts submissions. Artificial Intelligence Review Assistant assists reviewers, editors and internal teams to analyze, communicate the quality of submitted scripts and the review process. It can also help to suggest actions and identify potential reviewers. Artificial Intelligence Review Assistant allows us to evaluate submitted scripts fast, ensure and enhance quality more efficiently and better support our authors, editors and reviewers. In my opinion, I think one of a great things of AI peer reviewing can do is fighting plagiarism. In contrast to the traditional way to detect plagiarism by human, AI can identify whether the whole sentences or paragraphs that is copied or reworded or not. So, starting using AI as soon as possible to perform scientific peer review is a wise choice.

After watching this video and search some information on the Internet, I think these researchers’ conclusion is really a wrong idea. Vitamin D is an important element of immune system. If we lack of vitamin D, it can cause emotional anxiety, Osteoporosis, or even cardiovascular diseases. Vitamin D can be obtained by getting appropriate sunshine. However, due to the high melanin content in their skins, Blacks have to take more time under the sun to get the same amount of Vitamin D as Whites. Nowadays, many people work inside so they seldom bask in the sun, and even Whites or Asians will easily lack of Vitamin D because of this reason. So, the lower Vitamin D levels Blacks have can be a serious problem. The researchers shouldn’t ignore the seriousness of it just because of prejudice. In my opinion, I think this kind of research, especially about health, should have a fair standpoint. After all, most of the researches are done for “humans”, not just for some specific races.

From the information I found on the Internet, I know that skin color is related to the composition of genes, and different skin colors are in order to adapt to the environment.
Most blacks live in the areas where have the very hot weather. Melanin can help them resist excessive UV radiation, making them less likely to get skin cancer. Whites have a lighter skin is in order to help them to absorb the vitamin D much easier.

Lack of vitamin D can cause diseases such as rickets and osteoporosis. Moreover, lack of vitamin D is also considered to be one of the risk factors to cause the depression in the elderly. I’m wondering that whether the researchers are blacks or not. I think research should be rigorous and precise, let alone published in journals. False reports can lead people to misunderstand. What’s worse, it may be deeply ingrained.

If blacks in USA don’t think lack of vitamin D as a problem, maybe they will just stay in the room all day and don’t go outside often to have a sunbath, and they may have diseases due to lack of vitamin D. I think live a healthy life is very important, everyone should go outside more often to absorb the natural vitamin D from sunbath, exercise regularly, and have a balanced diet. If we can do this, maybe we can live longer and have more chances to do the accurate research and pass on the right information and knowledge to others.

First, I think as professional researchers or scientists, you need to be 100% sure about the results you want to announce. Because normal people like us, we usually don’t doubt those professionals. We think they must have made a lot of effort to made the conclusion. So if you tell me that one theory had been wrong for 50 years, I will absolutely be shocked. But yet you cannot blame the scientists for everything, sometimes it is because the technology is not advanced enough. I think these two are connected. You need the best tools to prove a theory or science. That is why from ancient to today lots of theory had been overthrown by great scientists like Einstein or Galileo. While some mistakes are only because of human itself: careless, arrogant, or even ignorance. We need to learn from our mistakes. Some mistakes had been made, but what we can do is to prevent from happening again and make safeguard. As for the result teacher mentioned in the video about levels of vitamin D between black people and white people, I think researchers think it is not a big problem is because there is no big problem so far. But is doesn’t mean that it will not have in the future, the human body requires different nutrition. None of them can be less than average, or it will cause their body to have some health problems. And the results they made is too simple, what do they mean a big problem? Dead? Or sick? If they can do more research about the connection between skin cancer and nutrition, or UVB light, they will get a clearer result.

Artificial intelligence (AI) simply means a computer program that can mimic functions of the human brain, such as solving math problems. We use these programs every day to perform complicated procedures, such as recognizing characters and speech patterns, when we talk into our cell phones or dictate a text message.
Although we might consider AI as a somewhat new technology, I think it is unlikely to replace humans. Because all of the information or knowledge in AI is from people’s life experience or some research. Maybe it will make us doing something more efficiently or replace some human’s occupation, but AI can not making a decision. But If you build a decision-making system based on the articles which your journal has accepted in the past, it will have in-built biases. So I think AI is not very helpful for PEER REVIEW.
In conclusion, I’d like to say that AI is a great invention which is created by human, so its judgment is come from who created it. And AI can provide human some useful information but final decision is confirmed by human.

In today’s society, science does bring us a lot of influence also change a lot of our life .And now scientists will publish what they are studying in journals for the people who are interested in it to watch.Their research takes a long time to analyze before they can be published and how to effectively let people know that a new scientific research is a problem we must think about.Because we are making progress every day in this generation, If there is a study to be published, and scientists may have spent a year or two to analyze it, then when the study is published, perhaps the impact of this research on this society is not so great, because we are progress everyday and everyday have new thing to show up so l think if we can combine artificial intelligence or higher-tech things, we can shorten the time for our review and analysis.Artificial intelligence may not be completely accurate at this stage, but if combined with artificial intelligence and manpower, it will definitely improve efficiency and accuracy.

Scientific peer review is a complicated process. It takes a long time for two to three years if there is a good research to publish. Though those researches are made by experts, they may still have some problems or bugs need to be corrected through other experts’ review. It is a way without efficiency so I think we need to change. In your video says that we could use AI to help the review be quicker, and I am very agreed with you. This is really a great idea because AI is used wildly by human now and this technology can hence the speed those professional reviewer take. There is another problem you have said in the video is that if you are the first person to find or write the research and you need to wait for the long process. After a while of time another person publish the same research as yours but nobody knows that actually you are the first person. There are many problems exist in peer review, some knowledgeable people should try to change.

A great quantity of scientific discoveries is published for their reasons. It is definitely not an easy thing to publish a scientific and technological discovery. After viewing the video you gave us, I find out that everyone can be scientist. However, it needs group of people working together to review the study. And that is the disadvantage. After all, too many cooks spoil the broth. Different people will have different opinion. Some ideas in your mind may be a perfect point of view, but others may hold an opposite opinion. Due to the peer review, the study could be postpone or terminate. Moreover, the fund for the study is also an important difficulty to publish a scientific and technological discovery. Without the fund given by the publishers or some companies, the research couldn’t keep going on as the plan they made. Since these two reasons, it is not an easy and fast thing to publish a study. It requires team works and the financing cost to the research. It is impossible to do it by yourself. You have to collect different point of view from other experts and, sometimes, the local resident.

After I watch the video, I know that Vitamin D is really important to us. Sunlight exposure is a big problem to everyone in the world. Especially those people whose country has big sunlight. Maybe sometime it could make us get a cancer. It really a serious problem. I got many helpful information on the video. I think that I need to thank you my teacher to make this video first. People have gene to control their health. Sometimes, ultraviolet rays can affect your new gene, but a woman who is credible says Vitamin D affect people 20% human genome. So, human genome actually is a problem. Different kind of people is different from their genome. Their probability of having the cancer is totally different. For example, the black people is higher than white people. When you go to other place, you can control the emission rate and the time from machine. I agree that some professor calling their students in black skin to get more sunlight is very crazy and stupid. Their genomes are different, it may make them get sick. Genes decide your body that you know how much Vitamin D you need. Finally, some researchers and doctor like to ignore the problem. In my opinion, I think that we need to find the information carefully, and listen many aspect information, that we can get more correct information which is good for our health.

In order to figure out the answers of these questions, I read a science report on the certain website. This report tell us that in the next few years we’ll no longer need to live as a human but signals on a huge computer. We don’t need to care about our body anymore because we just need to live in a computer, there will be no physical problems in the future, human kinds has unlimited life and illness will never exist in our world. In the past few years, a movie called Matrix give us an example of what does it looks like if we lived in a virtual world. You can be anyone or get anything you want, Everyone can satisfy with this world, no one need to care about earning money or disturb by the illness, isn’t it the best future for us to make it come true? Is it important of discussing sunlight exposure issue? Definitely not if this report that I read became our reality in the future.Vitamin D? Endorphin? Not important anymore.

After watching this video,I think vitamin D is one of the essential nutrition that people
need to take in every day.We have to way to absorb this kind of nutrition from food or sunlight.
According to the doctor, one way to absorb the Vitamin D is to bask in the sun without sunscreen at least 15 minutes, this way can gain 80%~90% Vitamin D.The other is absorb
form food, such as fish, algae, milk and so on.But this way just take in about 10~20% Vitamin D.All we need to absorb enough Vitamin D in our daily life, because it may affect your 20% genes in your body.In this generation, Asian people usually hate to sunbath, because they think have a swarthy skin means that you work in the construction site every day.But in the western countries, they think that it is the symbol of rich.If they have a tan skin,it means that you have money and time to enjoy the sun.In fact, they use colour to distinguish wealth inequality. In my opinion, bask in the sun is necessary to human, because its function is to keep balance Osteocalcin and enhance small intestine absorb it.Whether you like or not,you should take in it in your daily life

AI is one of the suitable solutions we can use to improve our daily life in the future. Nowadays people has been relying too much on technology. We can see the world is trending to be more convenient. It’s on the right track that people should partly apply AI to our life. The world is changing so fast and people cannot follow what is happening. AI can make a big change or a huge impact to our life in the future if its success. People IQ are limited, but AI do not. They can learn so quick and we can use it for providing useful information to us like education, space technology or medical. SIRI is an example of AI; it does really change people living style by just speaking a simple command to the people. In fact, we can hasten scientific discoveries and technologies even more. People should think about how AI can live with human without disputation. Actually, I do not think AI can replace human position. Human has a characteristic called emotion which AI does not have. And this is important because even how strong, how powerful AI is, It is still somethings made of machine and technology.

With the ever-changing nature of technology, we could have some benefits and resolve some issues. To talk to the issues, they involved in different fields such as political, technological, medical and whatnot. Some of these are sensitive or advanced and there are many experts tried to write some papers to make progress. Inevitably, these all sensitive and advanced papers are not acceptable because of the time and the lack of credit. Because people are not familiar with all the topics, they won’t support or give credits to something unfamiliar even though it will be popular or profitable in few years. And the other reason that you mentioned it in the video is relationship. You must find the key persons or do something good for the journals, or you won’t get your papers published. I really think that the solution to these kinds of issues you talked about in the video is really awesome. The artificial intelligence is really an good way to make all the things fair. By all means, we want everything unbiased, if the one tried to publish the decent papers.

As the progress of technology, artificial intelligence has becomes more and more popular in nowadays. AI can help people do things more efficiency and more accurately. I think AI will be a future trends, it’s not only do things well but also progress day by day. AI have learning ability and revise mistakes immediately. So, in the future, many works will be replace. However, no matter how smart it is, I think there are some aspect that AI can not replace. For example, AI can not make decision, because AI is created by human and some research or big data. If AI wants to make decision, It might not be subjective. Although AI can analyze things by big data, it’s may depends on what issue it face.
To sum up, everything have pros and cons. AI can hasten scientific discoveries and technologies but can not do some emotional decision. In some circumstances, people can make more better choose than AI. So, we can take advantage of it strong point to make our life more better and more conveniently.

This is a survey about vitamin D. The researchers used the results they studied to tell everyone something about health. The survey tells us that the fewer vitamin D, the more diseases you have. This means that whites or blacks and even Asians will see this research. Therefore, each study should not be treated differently. I think the research results are probably to go wrong. Because of the sampling data, different results may occur. We usually refer to the results of the study and not really pay attention to it. But when we are in trouble with these things, we will look for these results of the research specially. In my opinion, scientific research will have different results because of growing over time and advances in technology. But I think that a scientific research should be fair. In this way, the conclusions of the research will be more credible, and the world that we live in will be better.

With the advance of science and technology, there are a lot of unimaginable changes happened in our world. Nowadays, many people are devoted themselves to learning and discovering more advance science and technology that can make people’s life become better. Therefore, we can see more and more scientific findings published in journals. However, making these discoveries be published is not as easy as I think before. Sometimes, it may take two or more years for some important studies or findings to be published. I think that there are some reasons that could explain this phenomenon. I do not know publishing very well but I think discoveries will be published or not are decided by publishers. However, these publishers maybe aren’t knowledgeable in various fields. In this cause, how do they know a finding is worth to be published or not. They would like to publish the findings discovered by those who have high reputation or whose opinions cause large impact. However, if a person doesn’t have that high reputation or not distinguished, it might be harder for the person to get his or her findings be published no matter how hard he/she works on his/her findings. This might because people might think that their opinions aren’t that convincing compared with those of influential individuals. 3A451013 Rita

  41. After watching this video, I searched for some information about AI peer reviewing. It is found that “Now peer review by artificial intelligence (AI) is promising to improve the process, boost the quality of published papers — and save reviewers time.” Can AI be a solution to current Issues ? With the advance of technology, AI has gradually become an important part in our daily life. Besides, AI is more and more popular because it can help people do a lot of things and makes the world better and easier. Nowadays, AI has been widely used in lots of products. As what the speakers say in this video, many journals need to be reviewed by experts and scholars before publication. Science and technology should start using AI as soon as possible to perform scientific peer review because it can help people a lot to do many things. Although everything has its advantage and disadvantage, it all depends on what we think and do. 3A451002 Annie

The researchers did not think that Blacks in USA have lower vitamin D levels because high melanin content in their skin blocks UVB light is a big problem. The reason is they thought they will not go there. And I thinks another reason is about political correctness. They wanted to be politically correct, so they chose to stop telling the Blacks in USA about their vitamin D deficient. I can’t understand why they made this decision. We all know vitamin D is important to our bodies. It can take calcium supplements and make us stay healthy. If we are lack of vitamin D, it may increase the risk of fall and bone fractures or cause many diseases, just like osteoporosis. Therefore, to tell people the correct information is very important. And the video also teaches us what we can do. In the past, we have to go outside or to be up to sunlight. But, now we are becoming indoor species. Fortunately, We have technology that can help us control the emission rates, the time, and so much more. Thank to this video that make me realize a lot of knowledge.

It is understood by everyone that appropriate sunlight exposure is good for people’s health.
It can offer people vitamin D to get the nutrition which body needs. Of course, there are other ways to get it because sunlight not only works on it, but also on the other side for people’s health, such as, skin, bone, blood circulation and so on. The most problems we meet now is about skin with over exposed under sunlight. However, there are many reasons that influence the results after exposed under sunlight. To human, there are kinds of color skin people in the world, for instance, white, dark and yellow like me. It is different from our gene in our body. So when different gene skin expose to sunlight, it has different change as results (like the degree of the damage to skin). Furthermore, the environment people live in may be the other reason to absorb the vitamin D, for example, dark skin people usually live at temperate climate area, so they don’t have sufficient vitamin D with sunlight to making the nutrition in body efficiently like others. Sunlight exposure is also has dangerous effects, for example, white people like to be health dark skin, so they do sunbathe usually. What I want to say is over exposed can not be a good thing to our body. Take balanced.
